Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled product, containing reinforcing fibers having respective specific strength and Young's modulus and water-swellable fibers having carboxyl groups bonded thereto in a specific proportion as a fibrous material and capable of providing the final product having excellent homogeneity and mechanical characteristics with high productivity. CONSTITUTION:The aimed fiber-reinforced inorganic hardened product is obtained by containing reinforcing fibers having >=5g/d strength and >=90g/d Young's modulus and water-swellable fibers containing >=0.4mmol/g, preferably 0.5-5mmol/g carboxyl groups as a fibrous material. The wet strength of the above-mentioned water-swellable fibers is desirably >=1g/d, preferably >=1.5g/d. The water swellability of the afore-mentioned fibers is desirably about >=3 times, preferably 5-300 times based on the own weight of the fibers. The cut length of the short fibers is desirably 0.5-50mm, preferably 1-20mm considering dispersibility, reinforcing effects, etc.
