Abstract
PURPOSE:To accurately measure the degree of deformation of a container, by projecting laser beam to a container while the mouth part thereof is held and rotated and measuring the change in the receiving quantity of laser beam not shielded by the container. CONSTITUTION:The step part 2b of the mouth part 2 of a container 1 made of a synthetic resin is firmly held by three drive rollers and parallel laser beam 6 is projected toward the peripheral edge of the bottom part 4 of the container 1 from a laser beam projecting apparatus 7 while the whole of the container 1 is rotated. In this case, a part of the laser 6a among the laser beam 6 is shielded by the bottom part 4 and the remaining laser beam 6b is received by the apparatus 7 to be converted to a voltage signal which is, in turn, set to a degree-of-deformation measuring device 16 while a DC component is cut by a condenser 17. Herein, it is compared whether the change quantity of the voltage signal enters a predetermined tolerant range and the degree of deformation of the container is measured.
