Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve treatment efficiency by heating and grinding sludge before anaerobic nitrification of the sludge. CONSTITUTION:The sludge is first heated to 40-120 deg.C. The sludge is ground in the heated state and is pulverized. The pulverized sludge is then anaerobically denitrified. Efficiency can be improved by installing a solid-liquid separator between the heating means and grinding mill and supplying only the hardly decomposable solid matter which is not solubilized to the grinding mill. The solubilization rate in the anaerobic treatment stage is greatly improved.
