CONSTITUTION:An economy target primary-pulley rotating speed NPDe and a power target primary-pulley rotating speed NPDe are retrieved by a target primary-pulley rotating speed retrieving part 41 based on an actual speed change ratio (i) and a throttle valve opening theta of each traveling condition, and these are inputted into a speed change pattern selecting part 63. And the power target primary-pulley rotating speed NPDp and the economy target primary-pulley rotating speed NPDe are added at the rate of a power degree Kp and an economy degree (1-Kp) to calculate a target primary-pulley rotating speed NPD, and a speed change control is carried out based on this. When the value of the power degree Kp is large, the ratio of the power target primary-pulley rotating speed NPDe gets large and the target primary-pulley rotating speed NPD becomes a power mode with importance attached to a power performance- oriented power mode. On the contrary, when the valve of the Kp is small, importance is attached to a fuel consumption-oriented economy mode.
