Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the variance of adjustment at the time of manufacturing an optical head by using a reference magnetic-optical disk to record a digital signal beforehand, and detecting the jitter quantity of the return light of the disk. CONSTITUTION:For the detecting output of a photo detector 10, a jitter quantity is detected by a jitter quantity detector 41 and given to a system control device 30. The control device 30 outputs the control signal in accordance with the detected jitter quantity to a driving amplifier 32 and an amplifier 32 outputs a driving signal to drive and control a stepping motor 42 with the input of the signal. The driving signal is received, the motor 42 rotates a screw shaft 43, and a moving body 44 screwed at the shaft 43 is moved by the screw feeding at the front and rear in a shaft direction. The moving body 44 is at both sides in the shape of sandwiching both edges of a collimator lens 2 for claws 441 and 442, one side of the lens 2 has clearance and other side is engaged in accordance with the moving direction. Consequently, the lens 2 is moved along a light axis by the moving of the moving body 44, and by the control signal, the position of the light axis direction is automatically adjusted so that the jitter quantity can be minimum.
