CONSTITUTION:At the time of using a rolling stand 2 as a 6-high rolling mill, a couple of work rolls 9 of a small diameter, a couple of intermediate rolls 11 of about equal diameter, and reinforcing rolls 13 of a large diameter are incorporated in a stand by use of a roll changing device and a screw down device 3 and a bending devices 6, 7 are actuated. If the stand 2 is used as a 2-high rolling mill, a couple of large work rolls 15 are incorporated in the stand and the screw down device 3 and the bending device 6 are actuated. Hence, a 2-high rolling focusing on surface brightness and a 6-high rolling focusing on surface shape in skin pass rolling for stainless steel, etc., are performable by the same rolling stand.
