Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a self-check on the normalcy of operation by using divided electrodes for acceleration detection and as an actuator for an oscillator for piezoelectric ceramic, and comparing detected acceleration with the oscillation frequency of the oscillator. CONSTITUTION:The vibrator of the sensor consists of the piezoelectric ceramic 10 and a metallic diaphragm 12 stuck on its reverse surface. If acceleration is generated where the vibrator is fixed, corresponding displacement is caused and charges are generated between silver electrodes 11a and 11c, and 11b and 11d of the ceramic 10. Variation in the quantity of the charges between the electrodes 11a and 11c is obtained by an impedance converter 13 and an amplifier filter 14 as a voltage corresponding to the acceleration. Further, the displacement between the electrodes 11a and 11d is applied to the oscillator as a current of frequency corresponding to the acceleration and the oscillator 15 is driven at the frequency, so that the ceramic 10 between the electrodes 11b and 11d operates as the actuator for the oscillator 15.
