Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily fit an optical connector at an actual site in a short time by forming the optical connector ferrule of a tip part guide member where a preformed optical fiber is positioned and fixed previously and a guide member main body connected therewith. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber guide member 1 where the tip part guide member 3 having the preformed optical fiber 12 positioned and fixed previously and the guide member main body 2 are coupled is molded 17 out of resin together with a metallic pipe 16 which is arranged outside it concentrically. At an actual site, the optical fiber is inserted into the optical fiber guide hole 4 of the guide member main body 2 and fixed with an adhesive while made abut on the preformed optical fiber 12 of the tip part guide member 3 whose end surface is polished previously. Consequently, a polishing process is not necessary to eliminate the need for a polishing device, a fitting time is shortened, and the operation is facilitated.
