Abstract

PURPOSE:To re-display a window once erased at high speed by preserving the image information and the attribute information of the window displayed on a display device into an external memory device and using the preserved image information and attribute information at the time of later re-displaying. CONSTITUTION:When the window displayed on the screen of a display device 2 is desired to be re-displayed later and a preserving command to designate the window is inputted from an input device 1 before erasing, a window condition preserving means preserves the image information of the window stored in an image information storing means 9 and the attribute information of the window stored in an attribute storing means 10, in an external memory device 300. Thereafter, when a re-displaying command including the designation of the window desired to be re-displayed is inputted from the input device 1, a window condition restoring means reads the corresponding image information and the attribute information from the external memory device 300, and sets them to the picture information storing means 9 and the attribute storing means 10 respectively, and the original window is displayed in the display device 2. Thus, the window once erased can be re-displayed thereafter at high speed.
