Abstract

PURPOSE:To properly process various types of pictures by using a means which detects a partial area designated by a color marker and a means which controls density information on a picture signal based on the area detecting signal given from said area detecting means. CONSTITUTION:An area extracting circuit 35 outputs an area signal which shows an area enclosed by a color marker. A density processing circuit 36 processes the picture density data on the inside or outside of the area by the density processing designation signal received from a display/operation part. A color processing circuit 37 performs conversion of the color code data on the inside or outside of the area by the color processing designation signal. This processed density/color data is selected by a gate circuit 38 with use of the signal (BBR signal) which designates the color to be presently recorded and displayed. Thus only the necessary data is sent to an interface led of a recording/displaying part. In such a way, picture processing is properly carried out for a designated area in terms of the density by means of the data that undergone a color separating process and no binarization processing yet.
