Abstract

PURPOSE:To form an applied layer to uniform thickness, even if the quantity of paint picked up by an applicator roller is fluctuated greatly by providing a paint holding cover in a gap between the applicator roller and a paint weighing part. CONSTITUTION:In a gap between an applicator roller 52 and a weighing part, a paint holding cover 61 is placed. Accordingly, the quantity of paint existing in the gap between the applicator roller 52 and the weighing part before weighing is held in the prescribed quantity in spite of fluctuation of the quantity of paint 57 carried in by the applicator roller 52, by the paint holding cover 61. That is, the paint holding cover 61 works so as to smooth the fluctuation quantity of the paint 57 carried in by the applicator roller 52, and a paint bank 60 is formed stably. In such a way, thickness of a paint applied layer 59 formed on a web 51 can be kept constant continuously, as long as a relative speed of the applicator roller 52 and the weighing part is kept constant, and even if the quantity of the paint 57 supplied by the applicator roller 52 is fluctuated, the paint applied layer 59 of uniform thickness can be formed continuously on the web 51.
