Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the pattern of a laser beam and to obtain a solid state laser device having high efficiency and high reliability by setting a sealing route in which a sealing material is brought into contact with a laser medium at a place where a laser beam totally reflected on the surface of the medium does not exist on the smooth surface of the medium. CONSTITUTION:In a laser having two optically smooth surfaces, in which a laser beam 5 is reciprocated while the beam is internally totally reflected plural times on the smooth surfaces in a laser medium 6 of substantially rectangular section, a sealing route for sealing the whole periphery of the rectangular section of the medium 6 is set at a place where the laser beam 5 does not exist on the smooth surfaces. For example, a sealing material 7 is set at a place where the beam 5 does not exist on the surface where is not brought into contact with the optically smooth surface of the medium 6, and so set as to seal the whole periphery of the rectangular section of the medium 6. This material 7 is formed by pouring a silicone rubber filling adhesive from a communication hole formed on the wall of a lamp housing 2.
