Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an electrifying roll alloy for electroplating excellent in wear resistance and mechanical properties, by specifying a composition consisting of Cr, Mo, Fe, C, Si, Mn and Ni and compositional relationships, respectively. CONSTITUTION:This alloy has a chemical composition consisting of 10-30% Cr, <=20% Mo, <=50% Fe, <=0.1% C, <=1% Si, <=1% Mn, and the balance Ni with inevitable impurities, further containing, if necessary, one or more kinds among <=5% W, <=3% Cu, <=5% Nb, <=3% Ti, and <=3% Al, and satisfying inequalities, 13.4Ni+1.8Cr+1.7Mo+10.9Fe<=823.4 and 4.3Ni-0.4Cr-1.3Mo+2.9 Fe>=199 and, in this alloy, hardness HB and elongation are regulated to >=about 230 and >=about 5%, respectively. By casting the above alloy, an electrifying roll excellent in wear resistance can be obtained without causing cracking, etc.
