Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the slip of a shoe, by a method wherein, when the coefficient of a shoe slip determined from the actual car speed and the theoretical car speed of a crawler vehicle is increased to a value higher than a given value, an engine output is cut off. CONSTITUTION:A longitudinal acceleration value is measured by an accelerometer mounted in the vicinity of the center of gravity of a crawler vehicle to time-integrate the acceleration value, necessary correction is made to decide an actual car speed, and from an actual car speed and a theoretical car speed, the efficient of a shoe slip is determined. Output performance of an engine is preset, and when the efficiency of a shoe slip exceeds a given value, an engine output performance map is switched to a cut off mode, and an engine output is cut off to a given value to prevent the slip of a shoe. As a result, when the efficient of a shoe slip is decreased to a value lower than a given value, an engine output performance map is returned to an ordinary mode, and an engine output is returned to an output available during a normal running work. This control method enables reduction of fuel consumption and improvement of durability against wear of each part of a wheel device.
