Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of a junction box by directly bonding a terminal to the ignition cable of a distribution cap with pressure, and letting its circumference coated with the first molding be embedded at the time of cap molding. CONSTITUTION:A central terminal 22 and a side terminal 25 are bonded with pressure to the end of a control ignition cable 9 and the end of a side ignition cable 10 respectively, then, the connection of respective core wires 9a and 10a is made. The first molding 26 made of melt adhesive resin is formed at the end outer circumference of the ignition cables 9 and 10 except the tip end section of the terminals 22 and 25. The first molding section 26 of each ignition cable is put into a metal mold for cap forming so as to let synthetic resin be injected for forming a cap 21 while being heated and pressed. Since the first molding 26 is softened by heating so as to be fused monolithically within projections 21a and 21b at the time of the aforesaid forming, airtight water proofness is secured in such a way that excellent insulation of the ignition cables 9 and 10 is maintained so as to enable the reliability of a junction box to be enhanced.
