Abstract
PURPOSE:To manage moisture absorption of winding automatically within a control criterion, by measuring moisture absorption of the winding from measurements of insulating resistance and temperature variation of the winding, then controlling a winding temperature regulating means automatically from the measurement. CONSTITUTION:Variations of insulating resistance and temperature of a winding 2 are detected through an insulating resistance measuring device 8 and a winding temperature measuring device 9 with predetermined time interval, so as to prepare an insulating resistance model value corresponding to temperature variation. Insulating resistance/temperature characteristic value is calculated from the model value and an actually measured insulating resistance. Then typical values are selected for rising and lowering of humidity from time series data of characteristic value and measurements fed from a cooling air humidity measuring device 11. The typical values are accumulated to calculate an estimated moisture absorption of the winding. Winding temperature controlled variable of a rotary machine is calculated from the estimated value, then a winding temperature regulating means such as a cooling fan 4 is controlled automatically from the controlled variable.
