Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain the superconductivity of a base semi-permanently by forming a non-permeable film over the surface of a superconductor of oxide type, and thereby suppressing permeation of water. CONSTITUTION:Existing invention consists of a superconductor of oxide type and a non-permeable film formed over the surface of the same, wherein the latter named may be either an organic type film or an inorganic. As material to the organic type film to be used can be named organic highpolymers such as silicone resin, epoxy resin, polyethylene, while as material to the inorganic type film can be named organo sol with ceramic fine particles dispersed or an organic solution of organic metal compound. After affixing the material to the surface, a heat treatment is carried out to form a film. Thereby water permeation into the superconductor of oxide type is suppressed, and superconductivity can be maintained semi-permanently.
