Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent image quality degradation to be peculiar when a dynamic picture is converted to a still picture by discriminating image fluctuation during a field scanning in an interlaced scanning, executing a prescribed interpolation processing and executing a printing. CONSTITUTION:Data read from an image memory 2 are inputted to a multiplier 6 together with a coefficient from a coefficient generator 5 and the data for nine picture element of the multiplied result are successively added in an adder 7. For the output of the adder 7, the output for eight times-addition goes to be the processed result for one picture element and it is inputted to a latch 9 with the timing of a clock C. This filtering result is inputted to a comparator 10 and compared with a threshold setting value 11. Then, whether the subject picture element is a fluctuating picture element during the field scanning or not is judged. On the other hand, subject picture element data from the memory 2 are latched 12 with the timing of a clock B and the picture element data of a preceding line are latched 13 with the timing of a clock A.
