Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R1 is alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxycarbonylalkyl, carboxylalkyl, (alkylsubstituted)phenyl, amino, alkylamino or alkoxycarbonylamino; R2 are R3 are alkyl] and salt thereof.
EXAMPLE: 1-(3,5-di-tert.-Butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-(2-methoxycarbonylethyl)benzi midazole.
USE: Useful as an antiphlogistics, antiallergic agent, antirheumatics, analgesic, diuretic, antithrombic agent, hypotensive agent, etc.
PREPARATION: A 1,4-benzoquinone derivative expressed by formula II is con densed with o-phenylenediamine to afford a compound expressed by formula III, which is then reduced and condensed with the formula R1a-COOH (R1a is alkyl or hydroxyalkyl) to provide the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
