本発明は感熱記録装置に係り、特にそのプラテ

発熱させることにより、感熱記録紙3を発色さ
せ、書画情報を記録するものである。通常、プラ
テンローラ1は多少弾力を有するシリコンゴム、
クロロプレンゴム等を用いて形成される。一方、
サーマルヘツド2は基板上に1ライン分の発熱素
子2aが配列され、その表面が5酸化タンタル
(Ta2O5)、酸化シリコン(SiC)等の保護膜で被

即ち、出願人は、前述第1図に示した従来装置
における記録状態を種々の条件の下に調べたとこ
ろ、長時間使用し、プラテンローラ1の摩耗が発
生したとき、特に濃度ムラが著しくなることが判
つた。従つて、この点から記録時におけるプラテ
ンローラ1の状態を更に詳しく調べたところ、感
熱記録紙3をプラテンローラ1、サーマルヘツド
2間にセツトした初期状態では、第3図に示す如
く、発熱素子2aの中心位置Oに対して、プラテ
ンローラ1はその回転方向前後に平均して接触し
ているが、記録動作時には、第4図に示す如く、
回転によりプラテンローラ1が変形し、その接触
面が回転方向と逆方向にずれる場合のあることが
判つた。一方、接触圧と記録濃度との関係は、第
5図に示す関係にあり、接触圧がある値以下にな
