Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the selection of plural retrieved KANJI (Chinese characters) easily and without any error by outputting and displaying the example data of the retrieved KANJI. CONSTITUTION:KANJI corresponding to KANA (Japanese syllabary) words inputted from a key input part 2 is retrieved from a KANA/KANJI dictionary table in a ROM 3 and the retrieved KANJI is outputted to a liquid crystal display LCD 5. When the outputted KANJI is watched and the output instruction is given through the example output instructing means of the key input part 2 by the operator, a CPU 1 retrieves the example data corresponding to the KANJI from the ROM 3 to store the example data of a single KANJI or the combination of KANJI and outputs the retrieved example data to the LCD 5. The operator selects the suitable KANJI out of the retrieved KANJI based on the outputted example data.
