Abstract

CONSTITUTION:When the second movable electrode 23 is moved to the left, the fitting section of an insulating rod 29 and the second electrode 23 is located on the left of the second electrode 23 main body, thus the fitting section of the insulating rod 29 and the second electrode 23 is not protruded to the driving device side (right side) than the tip of a mating shield 27. Since the mating shield 27 is fitted integrally with the second electrode 23, the fitting section of the insulating rod 29 and the second electrode 23 is invariably stored at the fixed position in the mating shield 27 and sufficiently shielded. The mating shield 27 and the second movable shield 24 are thus integrated, and the breaking operation is started from the insertion state, both shields 24, 27 can be maintained at the same positional relationship until the breaking is completed, and the insulation strength between arc electrodes and the insulation strength between shields can be coordinated.
