Abstract

PURPOSE:To constitute the titled device so that an optical output cannot be emitted to the outside unless an optical jack part and an optical plug part are placed in a coupled state by providing a switch having a contact in an electric circuit which is operated at the time of coupling the optical jack part and the optical plug part, and also, contains a light emission source, and setting the light emission source to an active state at the time of its operation. CONSTITUTION:An optical connecting device 20 is provided with an optical jack part 12, an optical plug part and a switch 21. In the switch 21, a contact 21' is integrated into an electric circuit E containing a light emission source 22. Accordingly, when the switch 21 is not operated, the light emission source 22 does not become an active state. That is, an optical output is not emitted to the outside. The light emission source 22 becomes an active state, only when the contact 21' has been switched to ON or OFF, that is, only at the time of operation of the switch 21. Also, the switch 21 is operated, when the optical jack part 12 and the optical plug part 12 have become a coupled state. In such a way, only when the optical jack part 12 and the optical plug part 13 have coupled, an optical output is sent out of the optical jack part 12.
