Abstract

PURPOSE:To allow a generator to perform overload operation, by controlling it so that the refrigerant temperature on low temperature side may be constant when the load of a generator is lower than the rating and the refrigerant temperature on high temperature side may be so when the load is higher than the rating. CONSTITUTION:The hydrogen to cool a rotor of a generator is cooled with cooling water by a hydrogen cooler 4. Ecach temperature of hydrogen at the inlet (on the high temperature side) and at the outlet (on the low temperature side) of the hydrogen cooler 4 is controlled to be constant with heat regulators 22 and 23 respectively. The temperature of cooling water to cool a stator 12 of the generator is controlled with heat regulators 25 and 26 likewise. When the load of the generator is lower than the rating, the temperature on the low temperature side is kept constant, because the signal selectors 24 and 27 will select the signals from heat regulators 23 and 26. When the generator is overloaded, the temperature on the high temperature side is kept constant, because the signal selectors 24 and 27 will select the signals from heat regulators 22 and 25.
