Abstract

CONSTITUTION:All of heat generating resistor elements (a), (b), (c), (d) are in an OFF state at time t1. At time t2 and time t3, ON pulses with a pulse duration T are applied to the elements (b) and (c) (to form dots D1, D3, D2, D4) whereas the ON pulse is not applied to the element (a) or the element (b). At time t4, none of the element (a), (b), (c), (d) is supplied with 8 recording signal. By this control, it is possible to record one picture element by 2X2 (=4) dots of the 4X4 dots of the heat generating resistor elements. By varying the duration T and/or the power of the ON pulse applied to each of the heat generating resistor elements 1, it is possible to obtain gradations in recorded picture elements.
