Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable gap setting to be performed both automatically and manually, by making it possible to automatically set a printing head gap through moving a carrier or a platen end to manually set the gap, when required, through manually moving a lever end rotating an eccentric shaft. CONSTITUTION:An eccentric shaft 4 supporting thereon a carrier 4 with a printing head 1 mounted thereon is provided with a lever 5 for turning the shaft 4, and an automatic setting mechanism 6 is provided at an end of the carrier 2 opposite to the shaft 5 or at an eccentric bush 3-2 provided on a support shaft 3-1 for a platen 3. The lever 5 provided on the eccentric shaft 4 is manually moved to turn the shaft 4, thereby setting a printing head gap. Thus, the printing head gap can be set both manually and automatically, so that printing quality on a special medium can be enhanced.
