Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer ink film capable of being used for printing a multiplicity of times, by incorporating a polyester resin specified in melting point and solidifying point. CONSTITUTION:A polyester resin to be used may be any resin which has a melting point of 55-110 deg.C and a solidifying point lower than the melting point by at least 5 deg.C. On the condition that the difference between the melting point and the solidifying point is at least 5 deg.C, the polyester resin may be partially crosslinked by a crosslinking agent. The amount of the polyester resin in an ink is preferably 20-80wt.%. A general wax, a low molecular weight resin, or a polyester resin falling outside the above category and a resin other than the polyester resin may be used jointly with the above polyester resin. As a coloring agent, any of a variety of conventionally known yellow, red, blue, black or other dyes or pigments may be used without any particular limitation.
