Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the telescope from falling down owing to interference with an observer and interfering with a load during tracking rotation by allowing a screw rod which has a weight for weight balancing fixed at its end part to engage threadably the other end of a declination axis housing supporting a telescope main body so that the screw rod is inserted and projected freely. CONSTITUTION:A screw hole 15 is formed at the other end 14 of the declination axis housing 13 and the tip part of the screw rod 11 is inserted into and engaged threadably with the screw hole 15. Then when a small-sized telescope 7 fitted to a telescope main body 5 is detached, the weight balance between the telescope main body 5 and weight 12 is lost, so the weight 12 is rotated and the screw rod 11 is inserted into and engaged threadably with the declination axis housing 13 to keep the balance. Thus, the screw rod 11 is inserted and projected freely into the declination axis housing 13, so no excessive screw rod is left outside the weight 12 and as the screw rod 11 is inserted into the declination axis housing 13 more and more, the danger of interference with the observer, etc., is less and less. Consequently, accurate, high-reliability observing operation is performed.
