Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a no-break power unit at the unmanned working of a computer, etc., and also to improve the economical properties for application of a battery, by cutting off the current flowing on a power supply line after a service interruption state is informed to an electronic equipment, etc., and the power-down information is received from the electronic equipment. CONSTITUTION:When a power failure occurs, a power supply input terminal 1 has no voltage or a voltage drop. Then the information on the power failure is outputted to an electronic equipment 8 of a personal computer, etc., via an RS232C terminal 16 as long as a power failure input terminal 10 receives a power failure signal. Under such conditions, a program of a prescribed algorithm is supplied to a RAM at the side of the equipment 8 and a file is urgently saved. Then the file is closed. When this process is through, the personal computer outputs a power-down instruction via the terminal 16. Receiving this instruction, an interface 2 of a no-break power unit opens its built-in current cut-off means 6. In such a constitution, the computer software is never destroyed despite an unmanned operation of the computer, and a battery is not damaged.
