Abstract
PURPOSE:To shorten the access time of a recording head to a desired address by dividing spiral tracks recording information into plural numbers. CONSTITUTION:The double spiral recording tracks 3a and 3b are formed on the surface of the recording disk 1 and an interdistance (track pitch) between the tracks 3a and 3b is always set constant on a straight line passing the center of the disk. The titled device consists of a recording head driving part 4 which decelerates the rotation of a spindle motor by a gear so as to shift the arm of the recording head 2 and which shifts the recording head 2 by the track pitch and a control part 5 outputting a control signal which makes the recording head 2 to shift to the recording head driving part 4. Thus, the recording head 2 selects the tracks 3a or 3b where there is the address to be accessed by the driving of the recording head driving part 4 which the control part 5 controls, shifts in accordance with a spiral pattern, and therefore the time for accessing to the objective address on the track can be shortened.
