Abstract
PURPOSE:To correct local deformations and to prevent shape defects by predictively calculating a shape of a rolled sheet stock under a standard value of roll bending force based on a present value and the standard value of roll bending and controlling a flow rate distribution of a coolant in the roll body length direction. CONSTITUTION:A shape of a sheet stock 16 is controlled by adjusting roll bending forces based on outputs of a sheet shape detector 18. Shape defects of the stock 16 are prevented by effectively performing the shape control by roll bending forces having high responsiveness. A sheet shape betaki when a roll bending force is a standard value Fk is predictively calculated based on a difference between a present value Fm and the standard value Fk of roll bending force to control a flow rate distribution of a coolant in the roll body length direction. Therefore, a zone coolant is used so that the force Fm does not reach its mechanical high and low limits and to prevent local deformations. Further, shape defects caused by improper flow rate distribution of the zone coolant is prevented.
