Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable simultaneous replacement of a plurality of cutting tools by arranging a shift mechanism for displacing a head magazine in approaching/ separating direction with respect to a body section between the body section and the head magazine. CONSTITUTION:Head magazines 56, 56a are born rotatably on the sideface of the body section 30 of a turret machine tool 10 comprising first and second machining devices 14, 16, where turret heads 44, 44a are held by means of a plurality of head clamp mechanisms 96, 96a. When the turret head 44, 44a for holding a plurality of tools 48, 48a are replaced, the head magazines 56, 56a are rotated through an index unit 58 and positioned with respect to head holders 42, 42a of the machining devices 14, 16, then shift mechanisms 54, 54a are approached/separated in order to replace the turret heads 44, 44a. In such a manner, a plurality of cutting tools can be replaced simultaneously.
