Abstract
PURPOSE:To press a grindstone to the edge of a product at constant pressure and angle, and enable the automatic and uniform removal of a burr by causing the forced contact of the grinding face of the grindstone with the edge of a ring-shaped product supported on a product retaining mechanism and providing a grinding mechanism for turning the grindstone. CONSTITUTION:After a ring-shaped product W is fixed to a table 16 via the operation of the chuck of said table 16 in a product retaining mechanism 1, a tilting motor 11 is driven and a tilting bed 7 and the table 16 are tilted, thereby changing pertinently the axial elevation of the product W. Then, a motor 25 for shifting the carriage of a grinding mechanism 21 is driven and a three- stage hydraulic cylinder 28 is operated, thereby positioning a grindstone 33 to be in contact with the burred edge of the product W at the predetermined angle. Thereafter, a motor 17 is driven and the table 16 is thereby turned at a low speed. And a motor 35 is driven and the grindstone 33 is thereby turned at a high speed. Furthermore, a cylinder 40 is operated and a wheel spindle 34 is thereby attracted lower. And the grindstone 33 is pressed to the edge of the product W under a constant pressure and angle, and the burr thereof is removed to chamfer the edge.
