Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the maintaining of a plasma vacuum area at a specified vacuum necessary for a plasma burning operation, by connecting a part of a vacuum wall having an access port formed in a vacuum container to a post section of the vacuum container. CONSTITUTION:A part of a vacuum wall 4 having an access port 5 formed in a vacuum container 1 is connected to a post section 11 of the container 1 and magnetic material 12 is arranged at a heat insulated vacuum area of a toroidal magnetic field coil 7 surrounded by the vacuum wall 14. With such an arrangement, a ripple magnetic field of the toroidal magnetic field is relaxed while the lowering of the vacuum can be prevented at a plasma vacuum area otherwise caused by a gas released from the magnetic material 12. This enables the relaxation of the ripple magnetic field of the toroidal magnetic field without enlarging the coil 7 and the whole of the apparatus while permitting the maintaining of the plasma vacuum area at a specified vacuum necessary for plasma burning operation.
