Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for separately detecting final recording positions at the time of recording information, to eliminate the reproduction of an unrecorded area at the time of a reproduction and to remove the abnormality of a time base servo by detecting the final recording position in a recording area by a final position detecting means and recording the final recording position or the information relating thereto by a recording means. CONSTITUTION:A DRAW type optical disk 10 is mounted on a rotor 14 rotated and driven by a driving motor 12 to detect the mounting of the rotor 14 of the disk 10 by a disk sensor 16. A reflected light from the disk 10 is detected by an optical pickup 18 to detect the information recorded on the disk 10, a tracking error signal or the like and supplied to a recording and reproducing signal processing circuit 20, a reproducing signal detecting circuit 22 and a track number demodulating circuit 24 and an F/T servo circuit 26. A recorded area 48 is operated by these circuits according to a command from a track controller 32 and the recorded area constituted of the DRAW area 50 of the disk 10 and many tracks is arranged to detect the final track by the pickup 18.
