Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the posibility of shifting the center position of an electronic component from a predetermined position and improve the accuracy of repetition by a method wherein two pairs of holding members which positions the components are held at the respective positions symmetrical to the center position to which the component is to be positioned.
CONSTITUTION: Two pairs of holding members 12A/12B and 13A/13D are provided on a circular flange 11a which has a plane perpendicular to the axis of a main shaft 11 so as to make right angles with each other and to be slid freely. Springs 14 and 15 are hooked to the holding members through the main shaft 11 to actuate the holding members so as to come close to each other. A 1st defining member 16 which defines the positions of the holding members 12A and 12B are applied to the outer circumference of the main shaft 11 so as to be slid and rotated freely and the facing holding members 12A and 12B are positioned at the equal distance from the center line C of a component mounting head 1. Also, a 2nd defining member 20 which defines the positions of the holding members 13A and 13B is applied to the outer circumference of the 1st defining member 16 so as to be slid freely and the holding members 13A and 13B are positioned at the equal distance from the center line C of the component mounting head 1.
