Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the revision of a display data by recording a time code and a data for character display to an index period in a recorder of an information signal provided with the index field to a location where no information signal is recorded. CONSTITUTION:A coding index signal CDIX is outputted from a controller 52 for a period where a rotary head does not scan the index field at recording and the coding index signal CDIX is fed to a RAM 71 for buffer through a switch circuit 72. Moreover, an address signal is fed to the RAM 71 through the switch circuit 74 from the controller 52. Then a signal from the switch circuit is fed to a decoder 85 and a coding index signal CDIX is decoded. The coding index signal CDIX is fed to the check circuit 87 to apply error check of the coding index signal CDIX.
