Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an aromatic smoking taste improving agent which is formed by incorporating the extract of Phleum pratense Linn. of Gramineae into the agent, removes disagreeable taste, such as stimulus and raw smell of leaf tobacco, and imparts the aromatic smoking taste having high palatability to the tobacco. CONSTITUTION: The aromatic smoking taste of the tobacco is improved by cutting the timothy, Phleum pratense Linn. of Gramineae and executing extraction by preferably using methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, etc., and adding the resulted extract preferably at a ratio of 0.1 to 50ppm of the weight of the shredded tobacco to the tobacco.
