Abstract
PURPOSE: To activate a permanent waving soln. consisting essentially of thioglycolate and having a low concn. and low alkalinity by irradiating this soln. with far IF rays. CONSTITUTION: The hair is wound around plastic rods and the permanent waving first liquid having low concn. (about 1.5% as thioglycolic acid) and low alkalinity of pH about 8.0 is poured thereon. The hair is, thereupon, irradiated by using a far IF ray irradiation device and is held for about 10 to 20 minutes at about 36 to 40 deg.C hair tap. An aq. about 4% NaBrO3 soln. is poured as the second liquid thereon and is rested for about 10 minutes to fix the waves. If the hair is permanently waved in such a manner, the permanent waving soln. having the low concn. and the low alkalinity is activated by the irradiation with the far IF rays and simultaneously the materials constituting the hair are activated as well and, therefore, the rapid permanent waving of the hair without damaging the hair is made possible.
