Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce a film exfoliation, a film crack and reflecting characteristic even if a film is used for a long time or received by a strong heat beam by incorporating specific wt.% of zirconium oxide or titanium dioxide or mixture of both with respect to zinc sulfide as a main ingredient in a high refractive index film. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 1 is, for example, of a glass reflecting mirror of a halogen lamp, and a multilayer film 4 covering a recess 2 contains, for example, 5-30wt.% of zirconium oxide or titanium dioxide or mixture of them laminated by a vacuum depositing method. Thus, the water absorptivity of the zinc oxide is large to be easily oxidized to supplement a disadvantage of sublimed durable surface. They are of high melting point substances, have refractive indices near that of the zinc oxide, and no optical influence is affected by addition of 30wt.%.
