Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform printing of proper density by adjusting energization time of objective dots in accordance with the printing condition of peripheral dots of the objective dots, and increasing application energy when the objective dots are end dots. CONSTITUTION:The first holding means which holds data adjacent to dots of objective dots in a line to be printed, and the second holding means which holds data of objective dots in the preceding line and data of dots adjacent thereto are constituted using registers 14, 15. ROM 17 which outputs a peripheral dot pattern based on outputs from the registers is provided, and an output from the ROM is applied to an applied energy processing means 25 to compute an energization energy to the objective dots. In the meantime, an image data processing circuit 12 transmits an end dot signal to a selector 18 when the objective dots are end dots, and an applied energy processing means 25 performs correction so that applied energy may be increased. Under this constitution, the non-uniformity of recording density is prevented and printing quality is improved.
