Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce noise and simplify the manufacture by combining multiple cylinder liner pieces made of ceramic into a cylindrical shape and fixing upper and lower sections of the liners to a cylinder block with fixed rings. CONSTITUTION:Multiple cylinder liner pieces 3 are made of ceramic and combined into a cylindrical shape. Upper and lower sections of the liners 3 are fixed to a cylinder block 1 with fixed rings 4, 5 made of metal. The piston noise is thereby reduced, and the manufacture of cylinder liners can be facilitated.
