CONSTITUTION:The paper to be used for the base has an optical surface roughness (Rp value) of <=10mum regulated by lowering the internal binding power of the paper and enhancing the effect of calendering treatment, and its surface is smoothed by using a film forming polymer, such as polyvinyl alcohol, polyacrylamide, or water-soluble polyester to subjecting it to surface sizing treatment, thus permitting the obtained support of the photographic printing paper to have a mirror-like smooth surface and to obtain an image formed by exposure and development having a small amount of fine roughness.
