PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body which excels in repetitive characteristic, durability, etc., and does not generate image defects by incorporating nonmetallic phthalocyanine or metallic phthalocyanine contg. a cyano group or nitro group into an intermediate layer. CONSTITUTION:The intermediate layer contg. the nonmetallic phthalocyanine or metallic phthalocyanine having the cyano group or nitro group is provided between a base body and a photosensitive layer. Since the phthalocyanine having the cyano group or nitro group itself has no film formability, a binder resin is preferably used. A phenolic resin, epoxy resin, silicone resin, etc., which are thermosetting resins are adequate as the binder resin. The good image having the excellent electrophotographic characteristics and no image defects is thereby obtd.
