Abstract

PURPOSE:To make bending smooth in a belt conveyor for wrappingly conveying a lump type object by projecting two sheets of bendable, endless wrapping bands in parallel over the whole length of both side edges of a belt and bending the bands into a wrapping condition by means of a guide roller and a retainer roller. CONSTITUTION:Bendable, endless wrapping bands 5, 5 are projected over the whole length on both side parts of the surface of a belt 3. And, guide rollers 6 are provided on the required places on the traveling passage of the belt 3 while providing a retainer roller 7 on its lower course side. Hence, the wrapping bands 5, 5 are gradually bent inward by means of the guide rollers 6 accompanying traveling. Then, the end parts of the wrapping bands 5, 5 are overlappedly retained by the retainer roller 7 to hold the object being conveyed in between the belt 3 and the wrapping bands 5, 5. Due to this structure, bending can be made smooth.
