Abstract

PURPOSE:To restore the overrun for a period when a buffer set in a processor control unit has the margin by detecting the overrun fault of a data chain at the inlet and the outlet of the buffer. CONSTITUTION:When a request is received from an overrun detecting part 5 to set the data transfer number, the data transfer number is set at a 1st or 2nd next count register 3 or 7 for execution of the data chain processing. Then a microprocessor 1 performs the overrun fault processing with the input of the information on the detection of the overrun fault. Thus the occurrence of a fault is not decided as long as the data are stored in a buffer and the satisfactory working is secured even when an overrun fault occurs in a pause period during the transfer of data or even in a data transfer mode to a device. As a result, the overrun faults can be decreased.
