Abstract

PURPOSE: To satisfactorily perform an exercise highly effective for physical training or health improvement without letting a user get tired of it by providing the instrument with a means for supporting an upper half body, supporting body movable with two degrees of freedom for supporting a lower half body, and driving means for driving the lower half body supporting means. CONSTITUTION: A twist exercise instrument 1 is composed of an upper half body supporting part 2 for supporting the upper half body of the user, four leg parts 3 extended fownward from the upper half body supporting part 2, freely turnable foot stand 4 for placing the feet of the user, freely turnable floor plate 5 having a recessed upper surface for attaching the foot stand 4, and a driving part 6 disposed at the lower part of the floor plate 5 for rotationally driving the floor plate. When using the twist exercise instrument 1, the user supports his upper half body while putting the sections of the armpits and the arms on the upper half body supporting part 2 and holding parts 8 with both the hands. Next, both the legs are placed on the prescribed foot rest part of the foot stand 4. When a push button switch 9 disposed at the holding part 8 is continuously pushed, the driving part 6 is driven and the floor plate 5 is rotated. When the hand is detached from the push button switch 9 or any one of both the legs is separated from a switch 18 on the foot stand 4, the floor plate 5 is stopped.
