PURPOSE:To operate an accurate intake air quantity all the time as well as to make an optimum fuel injection quantity controllable by operating an expression of (atmospheric pressure-intake pressure) x atmospheric pressure, and determining a fuel injection quantity on the basis of the operated result, throttle valve opening and engine speed. CONSTITUTION:A pressure detector 38, detecting pressure at the upstream side of a throttle valve 16, namely, atmospheric pressure, is installed in an inlet pipe 15 which feeds respective combustion chambers E1-Em of an internal combustion engine with combustion air, while a pressure detector 19, detecting intake pressure, in a surge tank 14 at the downstream side of the throttle valve 16. Each output signal out of these pressure detectors 38, 19 is inputted into a processor 31 together with each output signal out of other detecting devices, operating a fuel injection quantity. At this time, first differential pressure in the front and in the rear of the throttle valve 16 is accurately found out of an expression of (atmospheric pressure-intake pressure) x atmospheric pressure, and an intake air flow rate is operated on the basis of this differential pressure and throttle valve opening. The fuel injection quantity is then determined from this intake air flow rate and engine speed.
