Abstract
PURPOSE:To change the reduction gear ratio of a rotary shaft in a large scale by operating a clutch mechanism disposed in a space with the rotary shaft of a drive, with planetary gear mechanisms sandwiched therebetween and a brake mechanism disposed in a space with a fixed portion. CONSTITUTION:Planetary gear supports 86a, 86b are adapted to support the first and second planetary gears 81, 84 in such a manner as to freely rotate round a sun gear 52, keeping the relative relation therebetween. A clutch mechanism B connects and disconnects transmission of rotation of a rotary shaft 51 of a driver with respect to an internal gear 91. A brake mechanism D stops the rotation of the planetary gear supports 86a, 86b. During operation, the rotation of an output shaft of an electric motor is transmitted to a ring gear end the like of an engine portion. On the other hand, at the time of starting the engine, large torque can be transmitted to the ring gear by operation of the brake mechanism.
