Abstract
PURPOSE:To sweep light to be measured directly without photo-electric conversion and to accurately detect the light to be measured by providing a sweeping circuit, a photodetector, etc. CONSTITUTION:When no voltage is applied to an electrooptic material 1, the light to be measured travels in the material along an optical path S1, but when a positive voltage is applied, the light travels in the material 1 along a different optical path S3 sine the refractive index of the material 1 varies. Further, a voltage Vs is applied to a transparent electrode 2 from the sweeping circuit 4, a trigger circuit 5 is connected to the circuit 4 and generates an electric trigger signal TR synchronized with the light to be measured, and the circuit 4 generates the voltage Vs synchronized with the signal TR. Thus, when the voltage Vs is applied to the electrode 2, the light to be measured moves from the optical path S1 to the S3 gradually with time and strikes on the photodetector 7 while shifting in position from P1 to P3. Therefore, the light to be measured is swept directly without being converted photoelectrically and variation in the intensity of the light to be measured with time is obtained on the photo-detector 7 as a linear spatial image.
